Lunatique was founded in 2020 by Margherita Catalano. The brand, registered in 2021, was initially focused on the production of unique pieces made to order.

The designer's vision then directed production towards the concept of MADE IN ITALY, supported by careful observation of the product and market needs, in which craftsmanship and design find their true expression in items characterized by bright colors, eclectic embroidery and limited-quantity capsules.

Fundamental in Lunatique is the careful qualitative observation of the product and the respect of Italian production traditions, each item is made entirely by hand, completely in Italy, between Florence and Alessandria, in small laboratories where the team of artisans works in a family atmosphere.
An essential point for the brand's policy is the protection and respect for the environment: the wool and straw hats used for the production of the hats are selected, one by one, in Italy a few steps from the laboratories and are never dyed in second place; furthermore the colors that end are not reproduced to avoid excessive consumption of drinking water.
Lunatique's packaging is completely plastic free: both the boxes and the hatboxes are made entirely of paper with cotton handles.
In productions dedicated to B2B, each item is made on request at the time of ordering, while production dedicated to e-commerce occurs in limited quantities to ensure that warehouse stocks are almost zero.
The attitude to realize a conscious production is reflected in the use of natural and eco-friendly materials, while the attention to the respect of the Italian textile heritage has led to the development of a production part dedicated to upcycling.
Pre-existing high-quality materials are selected (belonging to textile production for design and furnishing), which, distorted from their original use, are reworked to create on a die the soft cut and sewn items that characterise all the collections.
The stylistic vision is characterized by creativity and elegance where the accessory manages to enhance not only the body but becomes an expression
of the individual's character.
To date, the brand distributes in New York, London, Alicante, Ibiza and Formentera, while in Italy distribution is entrusted to a few selected stores and mostly to e-commerce and temporary pop-up stores created by the brand throughout Italy, because according to the designer it is essential to create a personal relationship with the customer, especially for a reality like Lunatique which was born thanks to the trust of the consumer and their support.
